Canonical’s Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) and Microsoft’s Windows 7 the two major operating systems are expected to show down in October 2009.

Most fear Linux because it lacks user friendly features, but that image is soon fading away, its a myth now, Ubuntu has changed a lot, with GNOME desktop environment it is one of the most user friendly Linux Dist. Ubuntu is going to be shipped with GNOME 2.28 which offers high customisation to Karmic, one more thing you can try GNOME 3.0 in Karmic.

Windows and Ubuntu are used by two mainly different sets of people. Ubuntu is for those for whom Linux is a way of life, and would not dream of paying for software, even if it comes at the disadvantage of less software. Ubuntu performs well in areas where Windows traditionally fails (performance, stability). On the other hand, Windows maintains the reputation of power, and a wide choice of convenience in software selection.

Some major update and upgrade of Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 7.

• Ubuntu 9.10: Karmic Koala, the Ubuntu 9.10 release will feature faster boot times and some other flashy improvements. Major changes to strengthen Ubuntu on mobile Internet devices (MIDs), netbooks, notebooks, servers and cloud systems.

• Windows 7: Microsoft has confirmed the selling Windows 7 in retail stores on October 22, 2009. They have earned positive buzz from testers for beta release.
• Ubuntu 9.10, Karmic Koala. If we think of one line sentence, the desktop side will focus on beautification and an improved boot-up experience; the server side will target cloud computing. Some more features of Karmic Koala.

The Karmic Koala Alpha 3 is the third alpha release of Ubuntu 9.10, bringing with it the earliest new features for the next version of Ubuntu. You can test and feel the experience of open source.

This is an alpha release. The final stable version will be released on October 29th, 2009.

4 Easy steps for Multiple OS.

1. Download VMPlayer from http://www.vmware.com/download/player.

2. Download VMPlayer and Application from http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/220303 select to download Ubuntu 9.04.

3. You will get a VMWare appliance which has it installed already.

4. Extract the zip file to your drive have 10 GB of free space.

5.  Go to VMPlayer application and select open, choose the destination folder where you have extract Ubuntu 9.04 and enjoy…
